48 Hours in Singapore- Sights and Eats

It’s been a full day since I’ve been home from vacation, and my body is still in limbo trying to figure out when to sleep and when to be active.  I wanted to share some highlights from my time in Singapore. Two Full days in Singapore didn’t seem like enough, but we were able to explore and really see, and do a lot in two days.

Singapore surpassed my expectations. The architecure, the food, transportation system, attractions, I was left stunned by how beautiful and clean Singapore is. Although, there are some odd laws that could land you in jail.

1) We visited Little India on our first night, and spent a good three hours there. It’s a very “happening” place. It’s busy, it’s colorful, lots of restaurants and shops. It’s very lively. I ordered my first Indian meal, Biryani and I’m making it my mission to find an Indian spot in minneapolis.

2) Singapore Botanical Garden is such a beautiful place. It’s free to visit, but the Orchid Garden costs 5 Singapore dollars which is well worth the price.

3) Sentosa Island is an absolute MUST!  This place is beautiful, and great for everyone. Especially families, and the kiddos. I dared and rode on the cable car; it costs 33 Singapore dollars which is equivalent to 25 USD. It’s a great way to get around the island faster. Siloso beach, while man made is very beautiful.  I wanted to make my way to the extension bridge but we didn’t have enough time.

4) Gardens by the Bay. It was great to see the trees and the Singapore flier, but since I’d seen the botanical gardens, I felt like I’d seen enough flowers for one day but there’s so much to do here besides the Gardens.

5) Arab Street was such a cute neighborhood. I ordered Sharwama for the first time, and it was amazing. There’s cute little shops, and tons of restaurants to eat at.  It’s a very colorful neighborhood much like Littk India.

6) Chinatown- this place was packed.  Had the best Chinese food. It was delicious and surprisingly non greasy.

7) Orchard Road- Our airbnb was a 11 minute walk from Orchard Road.  Orchard Road is the Rodeo Drive of Singapore. Lots of amazing shops; Zara, Gucci, YSL, Prada, all the high end stores and then some. I walked to Orchard Road the morning before our fight to Phuket and it was so nice to just walk around and explore, while drinking some Starbucks.

I’ll be sharing a mini vlog in the upcoming weeks, once my body has adjusted. Stay tuned for my photo diary of Phuket and Bangkok!

Let me know if you have any questions about Singapore.
