I recently bought a black pair of Pigalle as I’ve had my nude ones for over three years now. And man, it’s hard to find the original Pigalle 100mm. Like, you can find the Pigalle Follies patent anywhere but finding the original 100mm black patent is a struggle.  Let me be the first one to tell you that not all pigalle are made equal. Well, they’re both pigalles, right? Wrong.

I personally prefer the original pigalle that I have, worn HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Here’s how they’re different and why I prefer the original pigalle.

The pigalle follies are much sexier in my opinion, but at close to 700 a pop, I prefer shoes that are functional and stylish. The follies are stylish, but comfortable not so much. The follies are sexier because of the skinner heel and the low cut meaning they show more toe cleavage. Also, for that reason, I decided to pass on it. I felt as though my toes were being squished and felt that my toes alone needed a half size up for comfort. With the original pigalle, I know what I’m working with. I wouldn’t mind a slightly slimmer heel but the thicker heel adds for comfort and the fact that it covers majority of my toes without squishing them is a win for me.
