2015 Beauty Goals

Having clear skin has always been a goal of mine, and this year I’m dedicated to achieving it.  As I approach the big 30, having a great skin care regimen is important to me, and what better time to start than now. I’m hoping these goals will serve as a reinforcer for me to build a great skin care regimen and stick to it.

1) Drink more water- I’m embarrassed to say that I’m lucky if I drink about 3 cups of water a day. I’m well aware of the benefits of drinking water, yet I fail miserably in drinking enough water. I’ve started drinking a big glass of water with lime in the morning to start my day. I’ve also purchased a tumbler to stay hydrated during the work day.

2) Quit Picking- I have a terrible habit of picking my face and skin. I have this innate need to pick, it’s a problem. I realize to achieve the clear skin I desire, I’m going to have  reduce how often I pick my face. Which isn’t going to be easy, but well worth it.

3) Moisturize- Last year, I tried quite a few moisturizers and this year, I’d like to find and stick one that works for me.

4) Treat dark spots- I almost always have dark spots on my face due picking which leaves a scar. I figure if I treat spots as they come, they’ll be less likely to stay long term. Last year, I tried the Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector. It didnt quite work for me, so I’m on the hunt for an alternative.

 5) Exfoliate once a week-  When I first purchased my Clarisonic Mia 2, I used it consistently.  However, within the past few months, I’ve used it very seldom. I’m going to make it a point to exfoliate once weekly to rid dead skin and black heads. It makes a world of difference!

6) Start wearing eye cream- I purchased the Mario Badescu eye cream last year and used it sporadically. Not quite sure if it works, but I think with constant use I may be able to  know if it works well.

7) Wear SPF-  I rarely wear SPF, and even though I don’t spend as much time in the sun, it’s best to protect my skin, especially my face. My older self will thank me.

8)  Get regular pedicures & manicures- I tend to leave my nail polish on well after they’ve chipped. It’s a bad habit I’m trying to break.  I’ve decided to make a conscious effort to care for my nails at home, if I can’t make it to the nail salon. I’ll look more polished and it’ll  helps the over all aesthetic of my blog photos.

8) Remove makeup before bed-  We all have those days when removing our makeup seems daunting and tedious. Removing makeup gives your face a chance to breathe through the night without clogging your pores.

I am so sick of breaking out I am turning 30 this year as well and the worst part is I actually exfoliate, moisturize and all that jazz. My last thing is to try not to wear makeup everyday to just give my skin a break we’ll see.

I know what you mean! I hate break outs because I pick and its a bad bad habit. I agree with you. Going makeup free to allow your skin to breathe could definitely be helpful. 🙂 and yay to virgo babies!
