My fitness Journey

Hey guys,

Today, I thought I would write a post about my fitness journey. I’ve always been the intermittent gym type; meaning I’d sign up for a membership and cancel a few months later because I just never would go to the gym. Working out, being toned, and fit was never important to me. I’ve always been on the “smaller side” and was quite comfortable with how I looked.

May of 2017, I signed up for the gym, YET AGAIN. This time, I had a goal of reducing my cholesterol. Having cut out fast food for almost two years now, I knew working out was the next best thing to help me stay healthy. The first few months were plain old HARD. It took a lot for me to actually go to the gym, but I did go; week after week. Fast forward to October 2017, having lost 15 pounds, and seeing my body become a bit toned inspired me to keep pushing. Working out now is actually fun for me; self care if you will. Working out, and relaxing in the sauna afterwards is such a good way to melt my stressors away.

Here’s a few of the things that worked for me:

Reducing my sugar intake. I have a terrible sweet tooth. I love chocolate! I’ve never met a snickers bar, or nutella filled treat I didn’t like. I knew I would have to cut back on sweets if I wanted to make gains in the gym. Working out is pivotal to staying healthy but so is reducing sugar intake and just being cognizant in general of eating habits. I’ve yet to give up Starbucks (my weakness) but I no longer snack on a weekly/biweekly basis. I still eat treats; it’s just not a frequent occurrence for me.

Cute gym clothes like these leggings from True ActiveWear motivates me to get my butt in the gym. Hey, whatever works!

I’m partnering with True Activewear to give one of you gals a chance to win a pair of leggings of your choice from their shop! If you’re local, True ActiveWear leggings are being sold at RAAS at Mall of America, so go check them out!

I love this😻 my fitness goal is to be healthy and strong. My husband works or all the time but I don’t have the same motivation. I can eat healthy no problem but when it comes to taking the time to hit the gym I struggle. I wanna get stronger, fit and lean, and be able to defend myself.

You look awesome!!! Much more defined and toned.

My fitness goal for 2018 is to start back working out. I tend to be off and on also, but I’ve been mostly off these days. Smh. New gym clothes always help me to get back into it! Hoping to win! =)
