Spring is here! It’s brighter outside, for longer, the leaves on the trees are start to grow back and the weather over all is much nicer. Spring is the perfect time to update your look. I’m going to share a few ways you can do that; rather show you how I plan to update my look in collaboration with Herberger’s Goodwill Industries International.
Twice a year (spring and fall), Herberger’s holds t’s annual Goodwill sale which aims to collect clothing and household textile in donation for Goodwill. As an incentive, shoppers receive a coupon for up to 30 percent off coupon to shop Herberger’s. But it’s more than donating to get a coupon. The donations help Goodwill provide job placement and training services to benefit millions of people looking for work.
One bag of clothing provides one hour of on the job training for a person who needs employment assistance, which also means those people are connected to jobs which aids in caring for their families. As a social worker in my 9-5 job, I work in partnerships with employment specialists to connect my clients to gainful/supportive employment, so the Goodwill Sale initiative is just the best thing ever if you ask me.
Now let’s talk about how I’m switching things up this spring with my finds from Herberger’s, and how you can update your look this spring.
Switch up your scent
Spring is the perfect time to freshen things up in the fragrance department. I’ve heard so many amazing reviews of Tory Burch’s newest perfume Love Relentlessly. I can confirm that the hype is true. This perfume smells amazingly awesome. I even got a roller ball for my purse.
Change your foundation
As the seasons change, it’s usually a good idea to switch up your foundation. I wear darker shades in the winter as my face tends to lighten in colder climates and tans vice versa in warmer months, like most of us. I first learned of this foundation from my mom. I tried it once when I visited her earlier this year, and it went on really well on my skin. It’s a foundation and concealer in one and honestly, I think it’s genius! Just make sure you find your perfect match. My shade is number 21.
Switch up your lip color
I naturally gravitate towards Matte lipsticks as they’re long lasting but often times they can be drying. This spring I opted for a moisturizing lipstick from Lancomé. Because it’s moisturizing, it’s not as deep in shade as matte lipsticks but my lips are moisturized and the color is perfect for spring. I’m wearing the color Amuse Bouche. Don’t be afraid of this color of this lipstick. It’s very sheer, and does not go on as orange as it looks. It’s the perfect everyday lipcolor.
Incorporate some color with your shoes
Show off your toes in some pretty sandals. Minnesota winters can be rough and my toes are hidden in socks and boots all winter. Spring is the perfect time to let the toes out for some fun. These Nine West sandals are comfortable with the blocked heel, and the color is super fun!
A fun maxi
I love the color mixtures of this maxi skirt from Chelsea and Theodore. The slit is a huge win! Because it’s not as warm yet for sleeveless tops, pairing a maxi with a top like this one is perfect. This skirt would also pair very well with a dark wash chambray shirt as well as a light wash.
Find a Herberger’s nearest you to make donations.
The Goodwill sale ends April 1st, so now’s the perfect time to shop for spring and restock on those beauty items that never go on sale and don’t qualify for coupons!
How will you be switching up your look this spring?
Huge thank you to Goodwill Industries International for sponsoring this post.
